Dear Friends, Family and Child Safety Advocates,
Welcome to the Safe Kids Connecticut Fundraising page!
Every year around the world, a million families loose a child to preventable injury. In fact, preventable injury is the number one killer of kids in the United States today. Since 1992, Safe Kids Connecticut has been a statewide network of people and organizations who work together to prevent childhood injury. There are 7 active Safe Kids coalitions accross the state of Connecticut that focus on educating children and their families on various safety topics such as fire safety, pedestrian safety, sports safety, home safety, bike safety and child passenger safety. Safe Kids Connecticut is a program based out of the Injury Prevention Center at Connecticut Children's Medical Center.
This year, in collaboration with Connecticut Children's Medical Center, the Connecticut Elks Association, the Connecticut Department of Transportation, and the Connecticut Kiwanis Club, Safe Kids Connecticut will be hosting Safe Kids Day 2014 on May 14th at Chase Elemetary School in Waterbury. On this day, 395 students, grades 2-4, will be escorted through five safety stations to help them learn how unintentional injuries can be prevented. Up until Safe Kids Day on May 14th, Safe Kids Connecticut will be fundraising to achieve our goal of raising $2,000. Eighty percent of the money raised will directly support local coalition programming and the remaining 20% will support Safe Kids Worldwide. With that being said, we ask you to please join our mission in keeping children in Connecticut safe! We thank you for your support and everything you do to keep kids safe!

What Your Donation Supports
Your donation will be put to work immediately to protect kids through research, education and awareness about ways to keep kids safe from predictable & preventable injuries. Proceeds from Safe Kids Day support the injury prevention efforts of Safe Kids Connecticut and our partner, Safe Kids Worldwide, a leading global nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing childhood injury. Funds raised through Safe Kids Day enable our team to reach more families with life-saving prevention information, expand existing programs and launch new programs to protect kids in our community.
